Summary Pathway Genomics has developed an experimental assay that will detect circulating tumor DNA.   The objectives of this research study are to obtain human blood samples from asymptomatic individuals who have never been diagnosed with cancer, but who are at higher risk for cancer based on age, family history, genetic predisposition, or environmental exposure.  The blood samples that are collected will be used to do research on whether or not molecular genetic assays are able to help detect cancer at an early stage.

This knowledge can help your physician to develop the appropriate or preventative treatment plan for early detection.  If the results of your test indicate an increased risk for cancer, your doctor may order tests like mammograms, colonoscopy, and CT scans for any possible diagnosis and immediate intervention.

Purpose The purpose of this clinical trial is to obtain human blood samples from asymptomatic individuals who have never been diagnosed with cancer, but who are at higher risk of cancer based on age, family history, genetic predisposition, or environmental exposure.  The blood samples will be used to do research on whether or not molecular genetic assays are able to detect cancer at an early stage.
