Summary
To evaluate the disease progression as measured by Alzheimer's Disease assessment scales. To evaluate the safety and tolerability of MABT5102A compared with placebo when administered over 68 weeks to patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's Disease.

Purpose
The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and the effects of MABT5102A. The study is intended to find out what effects MABT5102A has on patients with Alzheimer’s disease. This study will also test different routes of administration (ways of giving the drug – either into the vein or under the skin).
Who is Eligible?
To participate you must:
Be 50 to 80 years of age and diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease.
Patients must have a study partner or caregiver that will be available to accompany them to study visits and answer questions about the patient's daily activities and behavior.
Who is Not Eligible?
You are not eligible if you:
Cannot tolerate MRI procedures or have a medical history which would contraindicate an MRI procedure.
Patients with a severe or unstable medical condition.
A study physician will discuss other exclusions with you.
